Alright!! We had great crowds in Cleveland (Beachland Ballroom), Pittsburgh (Moondog's), Buffalo (Buffalo Iron Works) and NJ (Roxy & Duke's) to start our CD-release tour, and now we get ready to fly to Switzerland...with our new CD and T-shirts as well!
Caught up with some friends and serious blues supporters in Cleveland for a standing-room-only crowd the first night of the tour. Great way to start the tour and what fun we had! The next night, we had another standing-room-only crowd at Moondog's, and more friends and blues fans showed up...including two people who are like family to me - Jeannette (Clarke) Lodovici and Joe Lodovici. Jeannette was married to the late great William Clarke and we met back in the 1990's when I used to follow William Clarke around the NY/NJ/PA area. We remained friends since. Joe and Jeannette married some years later and they are part of my family as far as I'm concerned. Good people and even better friends. Always great to see them on the road...and they know the REAL blues, having hung out in LA at the real blues clubs back in the day with George "Harmonica" Smith amongst many others.
Buffalo is another town with many friends of mine, having done many harmonica workshops and gigs in the area over the years. We played a new place to us this time - Buffalo Iron Works - and we had a great time. Good crowd for a Sunday night too!
We swung down to NJ to one of my local haunts for a special area show at Roxy & Duke's in Dunellen, NJ. Friends, fans and family came out and stayed for every note on this Tuesday night...can't beat that!
Now, actually we are in the airport as I write this, awaiting our flight to Switzerland where we will perform this weekend...I can't wait to catch up with some sleep on the plane!!
