Man, it's been great on tour supporting and celebrating our new release on Alligator Records with the Nick Moss Band. Since my last post here, we hit the New England area with the Iron Horse Music Hall in MA (an amazing old venue), Chan's in RI (always a tour favorite), a sold-out show at Black-Eyed Sally's in CT, to a great video shoot with Don O'Dell's Legends in MA, then south to Charlotte NC, Atlanta GA (more good friends and family showing up at Blind Willie's) and down to sunny (and humid) Florida where we are right now. We performed in Sanford and Port Charlotte FL and today (Easter Sunday) we have off....so what do I do on my day off?? Work, of course! I am still working on some behind-the-scenes details for the site and taking every spare moment to try to work on it, so thank you all for your patience...
In between all this madness in New England, we had a day off right when our good friends (and sax superstars) Doug James and Sax Gordon literally were playing down the road from where we were staying, at a great little bar called Cady's! So, needless to say, we had to go see them get down and join in on the fun. If you don't know who these guys are, get hip! Doug James was an original member of Roomful Of Blues and one of THE baddest baritone (and tenor) sax players anywhere, playing with Roomful and Duke Robillard for years. Sax Gordon played with Duke and so many others over the years, as well as having a string of great solo albums under his own name for years. There have been some videos posted of the jams that ensued while we were there, so be sure to check out Facebook or YouTube for some of that craziness at Cady's!
We have one more swing up the East Coast coming up this week, as we hit a house concert in the Richmond, VA area, then on to MA, PA and NJ. I'll be home for just a couple days before heading out to the midwest and racking up more miles with the boys and get to see my sister out in Omaha again!!
I have been getting many questions about the new t-shirts, and right now we only have the new T-shirts available on the gigs, but I will have my new design on this new BadAss Harmonica website soon after it launches!
