Bassman Amp Vintage Tube Set! Vintage Tubes for Bassman amp

LIMITED SUPPLY! Due to demand, I put together a few hand-picked vintage tube sets to use in a Fender Bassman-style amp. Appropriate with reissue or original Fender Bassman amps, and Bassman clone amps. This is exactly what I use in my personal Bassman reissue amps that I perform with. All tubes vintage, tested, and guaranteed!

Changing to good-sounding and tested vintage tubes is the best way to improve the tone of your Bassman-style amp for harmonica. It not only helps with tone, but also will help with "crunch" and some feedback resistance as well...and are SO much better sounding for harmonica than newer tubes!

This Bassman Tube Set includes:

  • Matched PAIR of Brown Base 5881 power tubes ($125 value)
  • PAIR of 12AU7 preamp tubes ($44 value)
  • 12AY7 preamp tube ($50 value)
  • 5751 preamp tube ($40 value)
  • Coke-bottle 5U4G rectifier ($75 value), OR 5U4GB rectifier ($30 value)

This set does come with your choice of rectifier, the lower-voltage (more sag) coke-bottle early 5U4G rectifier tube that I personally use myself, or the more standard 5U4GB style rectifier. Both are a preference over the common GZ34/5AR4 for harmonica...and the coke-bottle 5U4G is my strong preference for more Tone and Sag in a Bassman amp.

This set also comes with the 4 different preamp tubes, so you can tone-down the preamp section the way that works best for you, depending on your style and the sound and response that you want. 12AU7tubes will bring the gain down to approximately 22-25% of a 12AX7. 12AY7tubes will bring the gain down to approximately 40-45% of a 12AX7. 5751 tubes will bring the gain down to approximately 70% of a 12AX7. These tubes, sometimes in combination with one of the 12AX7 tubes already in your Bassman, will offer a wide variety of ways to set up your Bassman for different microphones, venues and performing situations.

Please note that all amps should be re-biased by a qualified amp tech after tubes being replaced.
